Here I review some of the best places to stay near the coast…
To make life easier, I rate everything under the following categories:
Beach Cheap – as it says on the tin
Beach Chic – reasonable rate
Beach Boutique – affordable luxury
The above distinction should make your selection on where to visit a whole lot simpler!
Perhaps you could help me? Do you have a favourite place to stay, eat and drink. It might be a boutique bolt hole or a hip & trendy glamping site.
I will keep you updated throughout the year on what’s new and where’s cool! Enjoy!
The Connan Resort & Spa – West Wales
How exciting that the old Hurst House Hotel in Laugharne has new owners and a new name
Welcome to The Corran Resort & Spa
I am due to visit this gorgeous abode later this week. So I am very excited to see what alterations have been made. Although, I find it hard to believe that this hotel could look any more beautiful….
This is where I spent my honeymoon, almost 4 years ago and I must say it was a heavenly experience. Everything from the location, to the warm welsh welcome was award winning. The attention to detail in each room was spectacular. To complete the WOW factor, the indulgent spa facilities were first class. What was most special was the feeling that you had the resort to yourselves. There was a sprinkling of staff members quietly being busy and other guests sat in various rooms lapping up the luxuries or log burning fires and afternoon tea.
There was plenty to keep you occupied over a day or two within the resort. However, you are spoilt with the vast space to roam across, from a generous hike across the marshlands to a mini adventure into the Laugharne, home to famous welsh poet Dylan Thomas.
No doubt I shall be back next week to report on how the Corran could possibly improve on the WOW factor that was once known as Hurst House. Exciting times ahead!

QUERY from Rhiannon Thomas: Where is the best place to stay for a one-nighter near Narberth, West Wales
Thanks Rhiannon, you lucky girl, Narberth is a very sweet town situated between 2 fabulous beach resorts Tenby and Saundersfoot. I would have to recommend the St Brides Spa Hotel in Saundersfoot for the perfect one night stay. The enviable location, perched overlooking the bay is what dreams are made of!
It has a top notch sea view! Rated: Beach Boutique
